As a family we put together a gingerbread house..My parents also celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary so we got them a red velvet chocolate cake..

I realize it has been awhile since I've blogged..srry abt that it's just been a madhouse with the holidays & some health probs I'm dealing with.But hopefully I'm going to be ok..right now I'm having alot of tests done.We had fun during the holidays..Thanksgiving we got together with family & had a yummy feast..sweet potato souflee,green beans,rolls,squash casserole,dressing,gravy,turkey & cranberry sauce..for dessert I made a chocolate eclair.

Christmas was wonderful but sad too as we were missing Jason..he is one of our highlights during Christmas him & AJ..& I missed my bff,Cathy so much.We did get thru it tho together.I'll share some of our memories from Christmas...

 AJ got so much..to name some things: a big globe,a light saber,a Nintendo 3DS,video games for the DS,Wii & X-Box 360,a remote control helicopter & Halo Scorpian tank...we all got so many nice things...truly blessed are we!

1.Every night b4 going to bed I exfoliate my face.
2.I don't know how to play not one musical instrument..I know it's sad..LOL!
3.I suffer from migraines but not as often as I used to..whew!
4.I love scrapbooking.
5.I married my best friend.

7.I was a CNA when I met my hubby.
8.I love Dairy Queen's Fench Vanilla Moo Lattes'.
9.I love technology & gadgets.
10.I love to watch it snow inside where it's warm.

12.Cathy is my BFF even tho she died in September from Pancreatic Cancer.
13.I currently have 420 Facebook friends.
14.I was born with one kidney & a heart defect & I did end up having open heart surgery when I was 6 months old.
15.My fave color is pink.
16.Around the Christmas holidays my fav movies are How The Grinch Stole Christmas & The Christmas Story.
17.I love caramel apples.
18.Organization is one of my strengths.
19.I'm spoiled rotten by my parents b/c I'm the youngest & my hubby spoils me too.
20.I get manicures regularly but have never had a pedicure..cannot stand anyone touching my feet..very sensitive..lol
21.I love to go out but I'm a homebody too.
22.It's impossible for me to pick a fave dessert b/c I love all sweet things..I have a sweet tooth!
23.I have a 9 yr old son who is growing like a weed & I'm enjoying every moment I can with him.

25.Last but not least I love all my family..Family IS what it's all about.Jason my nephew taught me how precious family really are.You learn something from someone in life..I've learned alot from diff ppl in my life but that's what Jason taught me & that is quite possibly the most valuable thing to learn!

Just Life..:)

Two weekends ago me,AJ & his dad went to the movies to see Jack & Jill it was so LOL funny! Then we had dinner @ Cracker Barrel.That is a great family movie.I had bloodwrk done last week & had to go to my nephrologist today for the results.They have been really good the last 2 yrs but today they weren't good.My creatnine was bad,my magnesium was too low & my protein in my urine was really high.On top of that my blood pressure was wayy too high..150/108 so he put me on yet another b/p reducer..I'm already on two.He said @ this rate my kidney would lock down if my b/p didn't come down soon..& I only have one kidney..:( & I have Chronic Kidney Disease.So I'm going to have to bite the bullet & lose some weight & start walking & biking as well.

Simple Saturdays..LOL!

I can remember when Saturdays were reserved for sleep in days,going to the nail salon for a manicure & shopping sprees with my friends or the hubby once I was married.My options were endless! I really never planned on doing the whole "MOM" thing.I never pictured myself on a Saturday afternoon on the playground @ the park or at Micky D's ordering a Happy meal..lol! When I imagined how my life was going to be I imagined the cliff notes version & skipped over all the little details.Those "little details" are what I obsess over now.A simple Saturday now may consist of Saturday morning cartoons & poptarts.I know that there will be a day when I look back & wish for these simple Saturdays so for as long AJ will let me I am keeping my Saturdays reserved for him..:)

Anniversaries

My parents will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Christmas Day! Now that I am married anniversaries are so much more special to me.I have realized the work it takes to keep a marriage loving & faith centered.My parents have been such a wonderful example of that!I'm blessed to have such wonderful examples.So in honor of their anniversary I'd like to share some things I've learned about life,love & marriage.

1.Never go to bed angry.
2.Falling in love is easy,staying in love takes work.
3.Love is a choice u make each day.
4.Sometimes love is doing something you don't want to for the love of your spouse.
5.Best time to talk abt a problem isn't when u are mad.
6.There is always something to worry about but just don't.
7.If the light is green go if it is yellow slow down & if its red check your lipstick.
8.Trust in the Lord.
9.Our futures are not guaranteed.
10.Do what u love & the money will follow.
11.Pray pray PRAY!!
12.Raising a family is work..but thank God everyday for your family.

My hubby tells me that I am a hopeless romantic..I guess he is right..I like candlelit dinners,roses etc etc but I like to do things like this for him as well.Friday nights are our date nights..so he had to wrk late..so I fixed a really nice meal..I fixed Garlic & Cheese Rotini w/ grilled chicken & dirty spanish rice..I turned on our electric logs in our fireplace..it was cozy that's for sure..we laid on our air mattress in front of the fire..first tho we had dinner @ our dining room table..I lit candles & we ate off our nice china & we drank out of our champagne glasses..Saturday we went to Gainesville for Jessica & Adrien's birthday...cake,gifts,pinata bashing everyone had a blast!
