Happy Halloween! Today is officially my dad's 73rd birthday! AJ is going as an alien tonight that is if he feels up to going...I had to pick him up from school this morning...he has a bad cough & he coughs sometimes so much until he throws up so I'm going to give him a breathing treatment every 4 hours & hopefully he feels like going later..we shall see & later I'll post trick or treating pics..

I had a fabulous weekend..very busy I must say! Friday we went to the funeral home in Anderson,SC to view Jason's body.Man he was handsome! Saturday we got up & headed to Wal-Mart..we had to get quite a few things-bodywash because I was out,a Halloween costume for AJ he's going to be an alien if he feels up to going,we got some blk shoe polish we both had to polish our shoes for the funeral & we got my dad something for his b'day plus cards.2pm was the funeral & it was nice.The burial was in Greenville,SC after the burial we all went back to my brother's apt.in Anderson & we had a feast..lasagna,tea,rolls,salad,slaw & potato salad from Momma Penn's & for dessert-coffee cake,Italian Cream cake,cheesecake & chocolate pound cake from The Sweetery.We were stuffed & headed home.Sunday we didn't make it to church..shame on us! We spent most of the day in the kitchen cooking a birthday dinner for my dad..my parents & brother & sister-in-law came for dinner.We fixed a baked ham,Boston Butt w/ potatoes,carrots & onions,green beans & wheat rolls.For dessert we had ghost cookies I made & a sugar free Devils Food chocolate cake with white creamy icing & orange,blk & purple sprinkles.Daddy blew out his candles we had cake & cookies then we went in the living room & he opened his gifts.He got lots of nice gifts.We got him a card,a skilsaw,some warm socks & a wire organizer,AJ got him a card,Alan & Marilyn got him a card w/ a gift card inside & my mom got him a Blk & Decker griddle.How was your weekend? I wanted to share some recipes with you & a craft idea..very easy to make!The ghost can is just a soda can smashed then I painted it white drew a face & painted the inside tab black which is the ghost's tongue..lol I saw this at a Fall Festival & just copied the idea! Very neat!
I made the ghost cookies for my son's Halloween party at school..just buy some Nutter Butter cookies then get some Almond bark melt it in the microwave or on the stove & coat the cookies then with icing make some eyes.
I fixed the chicken fried rice last night for dinner..yummy check out the recipe:

1 cup long grain rice
2 cups reduced sodium chicken stock
bag of frozen green sweet peas
2 cloves garlic minced
bunch of green onions chopped
2 tbsp.soy sauce
2 large eggs

Directions:
1.Bring chicken stock to a boil.
2.Add soy sauce.
3.Add garlic cloves.
4.Add cooked rice stir,cover & reduce heat to low.
5.Chop onions-set aside.
6.Scramble eggs in skillet,set aside.
7.Add chicken,peas,eggs & onions.

Honey Glazed Carrots:

Boil carrots on stove in water-(dice carrots) until they are ale dente.
Then drain off water put them in a roaster pan drizzle honey & extra virgin olive oil on them & put some butter on them.Put them in the oven on 350 degrees for 30 minutes or longer.They are delicious!! Enjoy!

AJ & Hunter @ Fall Fun Night..

 This week has been so busy..Monday we were in Anderson all day..my nephew,Jason was in the hospital & he died..Wednesday we went back to Anderson to get something to wear to Jason's funeral on Saturday & then we went by my brother's & had lunch w/ them.Last night we had Fall Fun Night at our church.We had dinner there & AJ wore his costume..they were games for the kids & they got lots of candy & prizes.
   Today I got out some winter clothes & put up some Summer clothes still have more winter clothes to get out of our closet & then have to go thru all of AJ's clothes..we are blessed with clothes! Tomorrow is AJ's Halloween party @ school & I'm making cookies to take sent pretzels today by AJ..will make a picture of the cookies once I get them decorated..wish me luck found this cute idea & thought I'd try it..:) Friday night is visitation @ the funeral home from 6-8pm then Saturday @ 2pm is Jason's funeral...Eddie is going to be a pall bearer.Sunday we are going to see Eddie's youngest daughter,Jessica she got married recently to Francisco & her youngest son,Adrien will be one next month.Sunday evening we will be celebrating my dad's birthday..he was a Halloween baby so this weekend along w/everything we have to do we have to get AJ a costume & get my dad something for his birthday.Monday is Halloween & we will be out trick or treating Monday night...Bleesings to you & yours!

Eddie & I got married on September 23,2000 & we celebrated our 11th anniversary last month we went to Tybee Beach in Savannah,Ga.for 5 nights.We had a blast there..We got home on Friday & the following Tuesday my best friend,Cathy died of Pancreatic Cancer on September 27th..I miss her so much...last week we lost a cousin who lived in South,Ga she was a retired school teacher & yesterday we lost Jason,our nephew.He lost his battle with Muscular Distrophy.We have to know our loved ones who have gone on to be with Jesus are happy & we will be with them again when God calls us home! :) Love & Prayers to you & yours..:)

Get It Done

I have so many things that need to be finished or should I say started & finished..lol I am a list girl & I'm hoping that having a list & needing to check them off will be enough motivation to get these done.And the list goes as follows:

1.Get the winter clothes out of the cedar chest & put up the summer ones.
2.Get all this laundry done...so many clothes..:)
3.Do some scrapbooking.
4.Finish my book & get ready to be published.
